Vom 27. Mai bis 2. Juni stellte die Künstlerin Sana al Mor begleitend zum Programm der Abendschule Import in den Räumen des Cabaret Voltaire eine Auswahl ihrer Arbeiten aus. Zu sehen waren die Fotoserien „Shades (2016)“, „Hypothesis – People’s Shadows (2018)“, „Zurich City Streets (2018)“ sowie die Video-Arbeit „My homeland did not devour me“ (2016). Über die Fotoserie „Shades“ schreibt Sana al Mor: „While I was waiting for the decision for my asylum case, I was walking around this beautiful city, which had been converted into an open air prison for more than two years, yet I was trying to cope with Zurich, with its regulations and sometimes with its monotony and conservative modernity, so I started to document my relationship with Zurich through photography, or perhaps I had documented, unintentionally, my mood that I was throwing in the streets of this city.“

Sana al Mor ist eine libanesischer Fotografin, Videokünstlerin und Filmemacherin. 2006 hat sie ihr Studium an der Universität Beirut mit einem Bachelor-Abschluss in Arabischer Sprache und Literatur abgeschlossen. Sie hat am Al-Jazeera Training and Development Center teilgenommen und eine Ausbildung in Fernsehjournalismus und als Pressereporterin absolviert. Später belegte sie Fotografie- und Photoshop-Seminare am New York Institute of Photography. Als Regisseurin hat sie 2013 in Istanbul ihre erste Kurzdokumentation „A Tawakul (Reliance/Vertrauen)“ fertiggestellt. Im selben Jahr wurde der Film beim Renaissance Film Festival in London offiziell in die Auswahl aufgenommen. In der Schweiz hat sie bisher zwei Serien von Kunstfotografien in Zürich und Basel ausgestellt. Derzeit ist sie in der Abschlussphase ihres zweiten Dokumentarfilms „On the Edge of Waiting“.
